Building Thriving Communities of Hope and Possibilities

22 Years of Service

Our Impact

In its 22 years of service to South DeKalb, New Life Community Ministries built trust, fostered hope, and delivered tangible, life-improving services to neighbors in need. As New Life Community Alliance, we will build on this impressive track record as we extend and scale our continuum of services. Last year, New Life made the following impact in South DeKalb.

We have exciting news to share. New Life Community Ministries is becoming New Life Community Alliance.

NLCA is more than a name change. Powered by the same New Life value of compassion for people, and with a renewed sense of mission, NLCA is uniquely positioned to take a leadership role in driving the holistic, coordinated revitalization of our beloved South DeKalb community

Community Trust and Impact

For more than two decades, NLCM has been building a foundation of community trust and impact by addressing urgent needs within our community through daily grocery boxes, hot meals, clothes, beauty and barber services, alongside case-managed services in education, employment assistance and housing. NLCA will continue to deliver these vital services and expand our continuum of care to help our neighbors achieve long-term stability, build hope-filled futures, and contribute to and benefit from our city’s collective prosperity.

OUR IMPACT

Our Mission

New Life Community Alliance exists to erase the legacy of poverty in South Dekalb neighborhoods and revitalize them into thriving, safe, and economically prosperous communities for new and legacy residents.

Our Challenge

In our South DeKalb community, the unemployment rate is as high as 22 percent—nearly five times greater than the city of Atlanta. An estimated 40,000 people in our neighborhoods make difficult decisions every month between food, housing, utilities, healthcare, and transportation. More than 80 percent of our elementary students receive free and reduced lunches, and as many of 40 percent of our high school students drop out of high school each year.

Our Pillars of Service

Building Thriving Communities of Hope and Possibilities

Everyone can have an extraordinary future, regardless of where they start in life. NLCA is here to walk alongside our neighbors on that journey by offering a holistic continuum of support – new and existing services – comprising five pillars:

1

Dignity Services

Meeting urgent and emergent needs of our neighbors, including food, clothing, and grooming.
2

Affordable & Workforce Housing

Connecting neighbors with affordable and workforce housing to stabilize our families.
3

Workforce Development

We currently provide Career Services through resume review and creation, job placements through partners, continuing education (certifications and professional development) and Job Fairs.
4

Education

Ensuring quality educational opportunities that will prepare our children and adults for higher learning and earnings to break the cycle of poverty.
5

Health

Increasing access to quality healthcare and expand health education and prevention services.
